Skrill has a new functionality, multi-currency accounts

The popular digital wallet Skrill introduced much-anticipated upgrade for sending and receiving money in several currencies.

Skrill has a new functionality, multi-currency accounts

One of the most popular digital wallets, Skrill, gets an upgrade all have been waiting for. From now on, Skrill users can have one account in different currencies, which eliminates the need to have several Skrill accounts to cater to your day-to-day online transactions.

This new functionality is already in place, in this article we’ll take you step by step through the benefits of the Skrill's multi-currency account.

  • Skrill users only
  • Available globally in all Skrill supported currencies
  • 3.99% currency exchange fee

From now on, your Skrill account can have several balance accounts next to your primary currency account, which you set up when you sign up to Skrill.

For every new currency, you can set up a secondary currency account within your Skrill account (the ID number remains the same). However, all payments with your Skrill card or crypto exchange can be made only with your primary account.

Skrill exchange service enables Skrill users to split funds between different currency balances. For each currency, you have to set up a secondary currency account.

What is new for deposits with Skrill?

The novelty for Skrill customers is that you can select a specific currency for each deposit. If you do not have a secondary currency account set up, this will be generated automatically. However, depositing in a particular currency does not mean that it will be handled in that currency, it will only create a separate multi-currency account. Meaning, the FX fees will apply.

Deposits with Skrill to a merchant

When making payments to a merchant (forex broker online casino, sportsbook, gaming platform, etc.), users can select their preferred currency. For example, you can make a deposit in USD to an online casino, and in EUR to our favorite sportsbook.

FX fees can apply when withdrawing from Skrill

When withdrawing funds, Skrill users can select any secondary currency balance account. However, fees for currency processing and exchange can apply. For regular Skrill accounts, the FX fee is 3.99%. If you have a VIP status, this fee is much lower. For the Bonze VIP Status the fee is 3.79%, for Skrill Silver VIP members 2.89%, for Skrill Gold VIP 2.59%, while Skrill Diamond VIP members are charged only 1.99%. See table for further benefits of Skrill VIP Status. With Paynura, Skrill and Neteller affiliates can reach VIP status sooner then regular users, and they can request an upgrade for their clients as well.

Sending money and receiving money with Skrill

Skrill users can send money from any currency balance account but should keep in mind that fees will apply for each currency exchange.

If a friend sends you money in a currency, for which you do not have a currency balance account, the amount will be added to your primary currency account, and FX fees will apply.

The advantage of multi-currency accounts is that you can receive funds in different without FX fee, if you already have an account for that currency set-up.

Conclusion

The new multi-currency functionally eliminates the hassle of having multiple Skrill IDs, but at the same time, be careful when using multi-currency accounts, as 3,99% currency exchange fees may apply. If your friends send you money with Skrill, make sure you have a balance account in their currency. Otherwise, Skrill will add those funds to your primary currency account and charge the FX fee. Do not forget, that you can cut some of these fees by becoming a Skrill VIP. Paynura has an excellent service through which Skrill and Neteller affiliates can upgrade their network to VIP

For more information about Skrill's multi-currency functionality, you can contact Paynura's customer support team on live chat, email or social media channels. Paynura is an affiliate program for ewallet and support service for all Skrill and Neteller users that would like to become affiliates.
